"Vixi Liber Et Moriar," (translates to "I have lived, and I shall die, free") Annapolis flag, Maryland, circa 1970s. Caption reads: "Official Flag of The City of Annapolis, Capital of Maryland. Annapolis was granted its charter in 1709 by Queen Anne and named in her honor. The emblem on a white flag represents her personal Royal Badge as the last British Sovereign of the House of Stuart. The Royal Crown over the Thistle of Scotland and the Tudor Rose of England indicates the uniting of England and Scotland under the name of Great Britain. This flag was represented to Annapolis by Peggy Stewart Tea Party Chapter DAR.
